Gulf Oil Leak and Oil Price

My first car was a Honda Civic 1996. It leaked oil too. This one instant that when my car leaked oil on freshly painted drive-way... it resonated more of a problem than this oil leak in gulf of Mexico. Atleast that is how I felt the way my dad reacted. What I find strange is that how oil price reacted for this BP oil disaster. Usually, when there real problem in any part of the world that is related to oil, price goes up, but that not the case here. In fact, oil price went down by 20%. Have you wondered how this is possible? is BP trying to keep the mass quite with these small incentives?

Any ways there was this group called gulf of Mexico foundation. Which is a environmental group who are assessing the cause and effect of BP oil spill. Their study found that there is nothing to be alarmed. An environmental group asking us not to be worried about one of the biggest oil disaster? Ah did I mention to you that this "think tank" group is funded by BP?

Canadian Winter

Whenever a Canadian tells you it snowed trust them. This is a result of few hours of snowing last year. I took the bus to work ofcourse. I have 2 speeding tickets and the last thing I want is my insurance going up for driving on unsafe condition.

Lost Art of Driving a Manual Transmission.

Today is one of those day that I had to go and tow a car from a collision center. Its 2004 Toyota Corolla. My boss has this old 1992 GMC tow truck that I never enjoy driving. It is a manual transmission with 2 feet long stick shift. If you can imagine, its like your grant father trying to get up from his easy chair with the help of his walking stick. Its a one thing to drive a 2009 BMW and total awkward to drive 1992 GMC stick shift tow truck atleast for me.

Later in the afternoon we got another call and this time also we had to tow, now this is unusual coz most of the time customer drive the car to the shop and we just have to drop them home or at their work place. This time my boss also decided to come with me since he knows the client for sometime and she has referred lots of people to the shop. Whenever he had to go out with one of the guys in the shop he drives the truck by himself. Now, this guy is in early 50s and I was surprised by the way he handled the tow truck. His posture, the way he changed gear and the only time he took his away his right hand from the shifter whenever he had to turn a corner.

Working in a bodyshop gives me the opportunity to driving all kind from cars and trucks.... from 1980 Ford Mustang to 2009 BMW. Manual cars can be fun once you master it and gives the sense of man and the machine. I had driven all kind of manual transmission but I see more and more people are going for convenience and ease of an automatic. I wouldn't blame them since I got learn to driving manual because of my profession not by choice.
